Alex Goff Headed to LSU for NCAA Regional

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky men’s golf graduate-student, Alex Goff has earned an invitation to compete as an individual at the NCAA LSU Regional, it was announced on Wednesday.

The tournament will be played May 13-15 at the University Club in Baton Rouge, La. and consist of 54 holes of stroke play.

The LSU regional is one of six NCAA regionals across the country. Three of those regionals will feature 13 teams and 10 individuals, while the other three will have 14 teams and five individuals. The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each region will advance to the 2024 National Championship, May 24-29 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.

In his final season of eligibility, Goff, one of Kentucky men’s golf’s most distinguished players of all-time, has once again enjoyed a stellar season. The Kings Mountain, N.C. native has a 70.21 scoring average on the year, the best in a single season at UK since at least 1993-94, and has posted nine, top-15 finishes in 10 starts. Goff has accumulated 20 rounds of par-or-better during the 2023-24 campaign, including a season-low score of 65 (-7) in round two of the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational back in October. He was a counting score for the team in all 28 rounds played this season.

For his career, Goff, owns a 71.51 scoring average, 78 rounds of par-or-better, 16 top-10s and 11 top 5s. He picked up his lone career win at the 2020 Blessings Collegiate Invitational and has since tallied six, runner-up finishes.

Goff has competed at NCAA Regional events each of the past three seasons. He finished T18 at the Noblesville Regional in 2021, T23 at the Columbus Regional in 2022 and T10 last season at the Auburn Regional.
